What is Cinfatós Expectorant Single Dose and what is it used for?

Cinfatós Expectorant is a medicine that contains two active ingredients: dextromethorphan hydrobromide, which is an antitussive, and guaifenesin, which is an expectorant.

Cinfatós Expectorant is indicated for relieving coughs and facilitating the expulsion of excess mucus and phlegm in colds and flu in adults and children aged 6 years and older.

You should consult a doctor if your condition worsens or does not improve after 7 days of treatment.

How to take Cinfatós Expectorant

- The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older: 1 to 2 sachets every 4 to 6 hours as needed.

Maximum 12 sachets in 24 hours.

- Recommended dose for children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 sachet every 4 to 6 hours as needed.

Maximum 6 sachets in 24 hours.

Children aged 2 to 6 years: There are other more suitable presentations. Only under medical supervision, as there is a risk of effects on the central nervous system.

Contraindicated for children under 2 years of age.

Patients with hepatic insufficiency should reduce the dose by half and under no circumstances exceed 4 doses per day.

How to administer Cinfatós Expectorant

It is taken orally.

Open the sachet and pour the contents directly into the mouth.

It is recommended to drink a glass of water after each dose and plenty of fluids throughout the day.

It can be taken with or without food.

Do not take with grapefruit or bitter orange juice or alcoholic beverages.

Interference with analytical tests

Driving and using machines

In rare cases, a decrease in reaction time or mild drowsiness and dizziness may occur.

Cinfatós Expectorant contains sorbitol. Patients with hereditary fructose intolerance should not take it.

Composition of Cinfatós Expectorant Single Dose

- Active ingredients: Each sachet contains 10 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 100 mg of guaifenesin.

- Excipients: Sodium saccharin, sorbitol (E-420) 70% solution, povidone, sodium benzoate, citric acid monohydrate, orange flavouring and purified water.
