Indications for Anti-Allergic Respiratory Nebulizer

Anti-Allergic Nebulizer 15 ml is indicated for the local and temporary relief of nasal congestion caused by allergic rhinitis.

Action and Mechanism of Antiallergic Respiration

Respibien Anti-Allergic Nebulizer is an association of 2 active ingredients, oxymetazoline and chlorphenamine. Oximetazoline belongs to the group of medicines known as direct-acting sympathomimetic drugs and has a decongestant effect. Chlorphenamine belongs to the group of medicines known as antihistamines which help reduce excess nasal secretion.

Dosage

Follow these instructions unless your doctor has given you different ones. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

The normal dose is:

- Adults and children over 6 years old: It is recommended to make 1 application in both nostrils, once a day, if necessary another application can be made at 12 o'clock. Do not use more than twice in 24 hours.

- Children under 6 years of age: This medicine cannot be used on children under 6 years of age. Form of use: This medicine is used via the nose. If you are using this product for the first time or have not used it for a long time, it is necessary to charge the sprayer. To do this, keeping the container away from the body, press the sprayer several times until a finely pulverised liquid comes out. Blow your nose well before using this medicine. Make 1 quick, firm push on each nostril, inhaling deeply while squeezing the spray and keeping your head up.

Contraindications

Do not use antiallergic respibien: If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to chlorfenamine, oximetazoline, other nasal decongestants, or any of the other components of antiallergic respibien If you have recently had an operation on your head (cranial, transnasal or transoral surgery). In case of dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa (dry rhinitis) the use of this medicine is also discouraged.

Pharmacist's recommendations

To avoid contagion the container can only be used by 1 person. After each application clean the end of the applicator with a clean, damp cloth and close the container immediately.

The maximum duration of treatment is 3 days.

If the symptoms worsen or if they persist after 3 days of continuous treatment, stop the treatment and consult your doctor.

If it is necessary to repeat the treatment, this should be done several days after the previous treatment has been completed.

Adverse reactions

Like all medicines, anti-allergy drugs can produce adverse effects, although not everyone suffers from them. Excessive or continued use of this medicine can lead to increased nasal congestion. During the period of use of oximetazoline in the nose and chlorphenamine in the mouth at doses higher than those of this medicinal product, the following adverse reactions have occurred, the frequency of which has not been accurately established.

The most frequent adverse effects are: itching at the site of application, dryness, itching of the nasal mucous membrane or sneezing. Slight drowsiness, dizziness, muscle weakness; these adverse effects in some patients may disappear spontaneously after 2-3 days of using the medicine. There may also be difficulty in moving the face, clumsiness, trembling, altered sensations and tingling, dry mouth, loss of appetite, altered taste or smell, stomach and intestinal (gastrointestinal) discomfort such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, stomach pain, as well as retention of urine, dryness of the nose and throat, thickening of the mucous membranes, sweating, blurred vision or other vision disorders.

Adverse effects that may occur on rare occasions are: tremors, palpitations, headache, nausea, redness of the skin (exanthema), anxiety, increased blood pressure, tachycardia and hallucinations. Generally with high doses and more often in the elderly and children nervous excitement with symptoms such as restlessness, insomnia, nervousness and even convulsions.

Other adverse effects: tension in the chest, noises in the lungs, rapid or irregular heartbeat (tachycardia) generally with overdose, liver disorders (which may occur with stomach or belly pain, dark urine or other symptoms), allergic reactions, some may even become severe (cough, difficulty in swallowing, rapid heartbeat, itching, swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, tongue, difficulty in breathing, etc. ), sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity), allergy to other drugs related to chlorphenamine (cross-sensitivity), rarely alterations in the blood such as changes in the levels of blood cells such as agranulocytosis, leukopenia, haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia and pancytopenia; drop or rise in blood pressure, swelling (oedema), alterations in the ears, impotence, menstrual alterations.

Conservation

Anti-allergic support does not require special conservation conditions.

Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Do not use respibien antialergico after the expiration date that appears on the packaging after "CAD". The expiry date is the last day of the month indicated.
