Indications of Dalsy 400
Dalsy contains ibuprofen as an active ingredient and belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Ibuprofen is a derivative of propionic acid, with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activity.
Action and Mechanism of Dalsy 400 tablets
Its mechanisms of action could be due to inhibition of peripheral synthesis of prostaglandins due to their competitive and reversible binding to the enzyme cyclooxygenase, an enzyme that transforms arachidonic acid into these prostaglandins.
Posology
Adults and adolescents over 12 years old (over 40 kg) : One tablet (400 mg ibuprofen) every 6-8 hours. No more than 3 tablets (1,200 mg of ibuprofen) should be taken after 24 hours.
Over 65 years of age: the dosage must be established by the doctor, as a reduction in the usual dose may be required.
Patients with kidney, liver or heart disease: reduce the dose and consult a doctor.
Contraindications
This medicine contains lactose. Patients with hereditary lactose or galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose or galactose should not take this medicine.
