What is ARKOPHARMA MARIAN THISTLE and what is it used forTraditional herbal medicine for the symptomatic relief of digestive problems, such as heavy digestion, feeling of fullness and to facilitate liver function, once a serious clinical situation has been excluded by the doctor.
This product is a traditional herbal medicinal product for use in the specified indication, based exclusively on its long-established use.
2. What you need to know before you start taking ARKOPHARMA MARIAN THISTLE ARKOPHARMA do nottake ARKOPHARMA MARIAN THISTLE
If you are allergic to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) or to the plant family Asteraceae (Compositae).
If symptoms persist or worsen during the use of the medicinal product, a doctor or a qualified health care practitioner should be consulted. If jaundice, or changes in the colour of urine or faeces occur, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
Children and adolescents
Do not use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Taking ARKOPHARMA MARIAN THISTLE with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take any other medicines.
Taking CARDO MARIANO ARKOPHARMA with food and drink
Food and drink have no influence on the effect of the medicine.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
No studies have been carried out to establish the safety of use of this medicine during pregnancy or breast-feeding, so its administration is not recommended.
Driving and use of machines
No effect on the ability to drive and use machines has been reported.
3. How to take MARIAN THISTLE ARKOPHARMAS Follow these instructions unless your doctor has given you different instructions.
Consult your pharmacist or doctor if in doubt.
The recommended dose is:
Adults: take 2 capsules, 2 times a day at the two main meals (lunch and dinner) with a glass of water.
This medicine is taken orally.
The recommended treatment is 14 days, however, if you notice that within 7 days your symptoms do not improve or worsen, you should consult your pharmacist or doctor.
Use in children and adolescents:
Do not use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
If you take more CARDO MARIANO ARKOPHARMA than you should
No cases of overdose have been reported with ARKOPHARMA MARIAN THISTLE.
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, consult your pharmacist or doctor immediately or call the Poisons Information Service, telephone 91 562 04 20, indicating the product and the amount taken.
If you forget to take CARDO MARIANO ARKOPHARMA
If you miss a dose, take the medicine as soon as possible and continue the treatment as prescribed. However, if the next dose is due, it is best not to take the missed dose and wait for the next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
4. Possible side effectsLike all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Mild gastrointestinal problems such as dry mouth, nausea, stomach upset, gastric irritation and diarrhoea; headache; allergic reactions (dermatitis, urticaria, rash, pruritus, anaphylaxis, asthma) may occur. It is not known how often these side effects may occur.

5. Storage of CARDO MARIANO ARKOPHARMKEEP OUT OF SIGHT AND REACH OF CHILDREN Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not store above 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack after the abbreviation ‘EXP’. The expiry date is the last day of the month indicated.
Medicines should not be flushed down the drain or thrown away. Please dispose of unneeded medicines and containers at the Sigre Point at the pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to dispose of unneeded medicine containers and medicines. In this way, you will help to protect the environment.

Each capsule contains as active ingredient: 390 mg of cryo-ground fruit of Silybum marianum L. Gaertner (Milk thistle).
The other ingredients are the excipients: hypromellose (capsule shell).

There are 2 presentations in brown polyvinyl bottles, closed with a low density polyethylene cap containing 45 and 84 capsule.
