Prospantus Syrup is an expectorant, herbal medicine to combat productive coughs.

Prospantus Syrup expectorant is indicated to relieve the productive cough that accompanies benign bronchial disorders.

It facilitates the elimination of mucus.

Indicated for adults, adolescents and children over 2 years of age.
How to take Prospantus Syrup
Follow the instructions on the package leaflet or as directed by your pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Dosage

The recommended dose in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is: 5 ml syrup (1 sachet), 3 times a day, (equivalent to 105 mg dry ivy leaf extract daily).

The recommended dose in children between 6 and 12 years of age is: 5 ml syrup (1 sachet), twice a day, (equivalent to 70 mg of dry ivy leaf extract per day).

The recommended dose in children aged 2 to 5 years is: 2.5 ml syrup, twice a day, (equivalent to 35 mg dry ivy leaf extract per day).

In children aged 2 to 4 years with persistent or recurrent cough, a medical diagnosis is required before starting treatment.

In children under 2 years of age it should not be administered, due to the risk of aggravation of respiratory symptoms.
Administration

Prospantus Syrup is taken orally. Shake the bottle well before use.

To ensure that you always take the recommended dose, you should use the measuring cup provided, which is graduated in 2.5 ml, 5 ml, 7.5 ml and 10 ml.

Consult a doctor if you get worse or do not improve after one week of treatment.

Pregnancy
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women and therefore administration is not recommended.
Breast-feeding
There is no information on the passage of the components of this medicinal product into breast milk, so it is not recommended for use in women during the lactation period.
Driving and use of machines
No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been carried out.
Prospantus Syrup contains sorbitol
If you have an intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Composition of Prospantus Syrup

Active substance: Hedera helix leaf dry extract. 2.5 ml of Prospantus Syrup contains 17.5 mg of Hedera helix L., leaf (ivy leaves) dry extract (5-7.5:1), extraction solvent: ethanol 30% m/m.

Other components: Crystallisable liquid sorbitol, xanthan gum,, potassium sorbate, anhydrous citric acid, purified water , and cherry essence.
