Omega 3-6-9 by Solgar® provides omega 3 fatty acids EPA, DHA, and alpha-linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid that must be ingested with the diet because the body cannot synthesise it.
EPA and DHA contribute to the normal functioning of the heart and DHA helps the brain function and maintain vision. They are commonly found in oily fish such as sardines, mackerel and salmon.
Linoleic acid is an omega-6 essential fatty acid that cannot be manufactured by the body, so it must also be ingested through the diet. Along with gamma-linolenic acid, it is found in vegetable oils and nuts, which are also rich in omega-9 fatty acids such as oleic acid.
