What is Efferaldol Vitamin C?

Efferaldol with Vitamin C is a medicine with two active ingredients: paracetamol, an analgesic antipyretic, and ascorbic acid or vitamin C.

Consult your doctor if your condition worsens, or if your fever persists after 3 days, or your pain persists for 5 days.

What is Efferaldol Vitamin C used for?

Efferaldol with Vitamin C is indicated for adults and children aged 9 years and older for the symptomatic treatment of occasional mild to moderate pain.

  • Post-operative pain.

  • Postpartum pain.

  • Rheumatic pain, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Lumbago, stiff neck, sciatica.

  • Neuralgia.

  • Back pain.

  • Muscle pain.

  • Menstrual pain.

  • Headache.

  • Toothache.

  • Feverish conditions and discomfort associated with colds and flu.

How to take Efferaldol Vitamin C?

Follow the instructions in the package leaflet or as directed by your pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage

  • The recommended dose for adults and adolescents over 14 years of age is: 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours, as needed. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours, spread over several doses.

  • Patients with kidney disease: consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Take a maximum of 1 tablet per dose. Depending on your condition, your doctor will tell you whether to take it at intervals of at least 6 or 8 hours.

  • Patients with liver disease: consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Take the amount of medicine prescribed by your doctor with a minimum interval of 8 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours, spread over several doses.

  • The recommended dose for children aged 9-14 years weighing more than 27 kg is: 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 5 tablets in 24 hours, spread over 5 doses.

  • Children under 9 years of age or weighing less than 27 kg should not take this medicine.

Method of administration

  • This medicine is taken orally.

  • Effervescent tablets should be dissolved in a glass of water.

  • Do not swallow until the bubbling has completely stopped.

  • Always take the lowest effective dose.

  • This medicine should only be taken when pain or fever occurs. As these symptoms disappear, treatment should be discontinued.

  • If the pain persists for more than 5 days in adults and 3 days in children, if the fever lasts for more than 3 days, or if the pain or fever worsens or other symptoms appear, you should stop treatment and consult your doctor.

  • For sore throats, do not take the medicine for more than 2 days in a row without consulting your doctor.

Interference with analytical tests

If you are going to have any analytical tests, including blood or urine tests, tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine, as it may alter the results.

Other medicines and Efferaldol with vitamin C

  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.

  • The package leaflet contains extensive information on incompatible medicines, those for which your doctor may need to adjust the dose, or those for which your doctor may advise you to stop treatment.

Taking Efferaldol with vitamin C with food, drink and alcohol

  • The use of paracetamol in patients who regularly consume alcohol can cause liver damage.

  • Alcohol consumption is not recommended during treatment.

  • Taking this medicine with food does not affect its effectiveness.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.

  • If necessary, Efferaldol with vitamin C can be used during pregnancy.

  • You should use the lowest possible dose that reduces pain or fever and use it for the shortest possible time.

  • Contact your doctor or midwife if the pain or fever does not subside or if you need to take the medicine more frequently.

  • Paracetamol passes into breast milk and there is limited data on the use of high doses of vitamin C during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so the use of Efferaldol with vitamin C is not recommended, except under the supervision of a doctor.

Driving and using machines

Paracetamol and vitamin C have no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Efferaldol with vitamin C contains sorbitol, sodium and sodium benzoate.

Composition of Efferaldol with Vitamin C

  • Active ingredients: Paracetamol and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). 330 mg /200 mg.

  • Excipients: Sorbitol (E-420), monosodium carbonate, monopotassium carbonate, sodium benzoate (E-211), anhydrous citric acid, sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate and polyvinylpyrrolidone.

Appearance of the product and contents of the pack

Efferaldol with Vitamin C comes in a box containing 2 tubes of 10 effervescent tablets each. The tablets are effervescent, white and scored. The score line should not be used to split the tablet.
