What is Antidol 1g and what is it used for?
Antidol 1g is a medicine containing 1 g of paracetamol as the active substance in each tablet. It belongs to the analgesic and antipyretic medicines.
Antidol 1g is indicated for the treatment of pain and fever in adults and adolescents aged 16 years and over, or with a body weight of more than 50 kg.
How to take Antidol 1g
Follow these instructions, unless your doctor has given you different instructions. Antidol 1g must be taken by mouth.
Dosage- The usual dose of Antidol 1g in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age: 1 tablet (1 g of paracetamol) 3 times a day.
Intakes should be spaced at least 4 hours apart. No more than 3 grams (i.e. 3 tablets) should be taken in 24 hours.
Avoid using high daily doses of paracetamol for prolonged periods of time, as this increases the risk of adverse effects such as liver damage.
If pain persists for more than 5 days, fever for more than 3 days, or pain or fever worsens, or other symptoms appear, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
Patients with liver disease: consult your doctor before use.
They should take the amount prescribed by their doctor, with a minimum interval of 8 hours between each dose.
They should not take more than 2 paracetamol tablets in 24 hours, divided into 2 doses.
Patients with kidney disease: consult your doctor before taking. Take a maximum of 500 mg per dose.
Due to the dose, 1 g paracetamol is not suitable for this group of patients.
Elderly patients: Consult your doctor.
Use in children and adolescents: Do not use in children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
Before you start taking Antidol 1g Warnings
Do not take Antidol 1g if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients. Do not take more than the recommended amount.
Avoid the simultaneous use of this medicine with other medicines containing paracetamol, e.g. cold and flu medicines.
In asthmatic patients sensitive to acetylsalicylic acid, a doctor should be consulted before taking this medicine.
If you have liver, kidney, heart or lung disease or anaemia, consult your doctor first.
If you are undergoing treatment for epilepsy, consult your doctor first. The hepatotoxicity of paracetamol is enhanced.
Chronic alcoholics should be careful not to take more than 2 g of paracetamol in 24 hours.
Other medicinal products and Antidol 1g
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or may take any other medicines.
Antidol 1g may interact with some of these medicines: these are fully detailed in the package leaflet.
Oral anticoagulant medicines.
Medicines to treat epilepsy.
Medicines to treat tuberculosis.
Medicines to treat depression and seizures.
Medicines to lower blood cholesterol levels.
diuretic medicines
Medicines used for the treatment of gout.
Medicines used to prevent nausea and vomiting.
Medicines used to treat high blood pressure and heart rhythm disturbances.
Flucloxacillin, antiobiotic, because of serious risk of blood and fluid disturbance (metabolic acidosis with high anion imbalance) which must be treated urgently.
Do not use with other analgesics without consulting a doctor.
Interference of Antidol 1g with laboratory tests
If you are going to have any analytical tests such as blood tests, urine tests, skin tests using allergens, tell the doctor that you are taking it, as it may alter the results of these tests.
Taking Antidol 1g with food, drink and alcohol
Taking paracetamol in patients who regularly consume alcohol, such as 3 or more alcoholic drinks a day: beer, wine, spirits, can cause liver damage.
Taking Antidol 1g with food does not affect its effectiveness.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or intend to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
If necessary, this medicine may be used during pregnancy. You should use the lowest possible dose that reduces pain or fever and use it for as short a time as possible.

Small amounts of paracetamol may appear in breast milk, so it is recommended that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines
Antidol 1g has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Antidol 1g contains less than 1 mmol sodium ( 23 mg) per film-coated tablet, i.e. practically ‘sodium-free’.
Composition of Antidol 1g
- Active substance: Paracetamol. Each tablet contains 1 gram of paracetamol.
- Other ingredients: Sodium carboxymethyl starch (Type A) (potato), pregelatinised maize starch, povidone K30 (E1201), stearic acid (E570) and crospovidone (E1202).
Appearance of the product and contents of the pack
Antidol 1g is supplied as tablets for oral administration. The tablets are oblong, biconvex, white in colour, with a groove on one side and
marked with PC on the other side. The packs contain 10 tablets, packed in PVC/PVDC/Aluminium blister packs.
