Indications for Honey and Lemon Strepsils
Strepsils sucking lozenges are used for the local symptomatic relief of mild mouth and throat infections without fever, in adults and children aged 6 years and older.
Action and Mechanism of Strepsil Lozenges
Strepsil Honey and Lemon belongs to the group of drugs called antiseptics.
Dosage
The recommended dose is:
- Adults: 1 tablet every 2 or 3 hours, when necessary, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
- Children over 6 years old: 1 tablet every 2 or 3 hours, when necessary, up to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours Not recommended for children under 6 years old.
Contraindications
The use of Strepsils sucking lozenges is discouraged in those who are allergic or hypersensitive to dichlorobenzyl alcohol, amylmetacresol or any of the other components of this medication.

Adverse reactions
Like all medicines, Strepsils can cause adverse effects, although not everyone suffers from them.
- Very rare adverse effects (can affect up to 1 in 10,000 people): allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) such as redness, itching or swelling of the skin (rash), or burning, stinging or swelling of the mouth or throat.
- Adverse effects often not known (cannot be estimated from available data): abdominal pain, nausea or mouth discomfort. If you experience adverse effects, please consult your doctor or pharmacist, even if they are not listed in the package leaflet.
Preservation
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not store above 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date shown on the package after CAD. The expiration date is the last day of the month indicated.
